This course presents students’ experiences in exploring and presenting the materials of translation and interpretation to equip them for their future career as ELT teachers, translators, or interpreters who are able to implement or develop both translation and interpretation skills in the form of learning simulation. Students explore the usage of CAT Tools, gain an awareness of the general problems involved in translating such as short passages, news, short stories, and folklore, and in interpreting such as consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, subtitling, and dubbing. Through project-based learning, roundtable discussion, panel discussion, and e-portfolio, students can analyze documents and issues related to translation and interpretation, and submit them in online platforms. This course applies Project-based approach with grading percentage of assignment 10%, participative activities 20%, project-based learning 40%, midterm exam 15% and final exam 15%.
