Science and Management of Dairy Animals

This course comprehensively discusses the biological, technical, and managerial aspects of dairy farming. The topics include the biology and physiology of lactation, genetics and breeding of dairy cattle, nutrition and feeding management, animal health and reproduction, as well as milk production and post-harvest technology. In addition, students will learn the principles of farm management, including financial management, human resource management, and recording systems. A systems-based approach and case studies are used to analyze various dairy farming models in Indonesia, ranging from small, medium, to large-scale enterprises, with an emphasis on production efficiency and business sustainability.
